Delivery Cover Across South Africa's Quarry and Mining Corridors
Our nationwide delivery service is built for the movement of heavy, awkward and often urgent crusher spares between industrial sites. We work from Middelburg, Mpumalanga and move parts into eMalahleni, Rustenburg, Polokwane, Kathu, Pietermaritzburg, Secunda, Lydenburg and other active quarry and mine locations. That includes single items, mixed consignments and palletised loads for shutdown work.
We deal with spares that need careful handling because many are machined, worn in service, or still in usable condition after inspection. These can include crusher liners, toggles, shafts, bearings, housings, pulleys, wear plates and structural components. Each item is treated according to weight, dimensions and surface condition so it arrives ready for checking at site, not rattled about in transit.
- Local and long-distance delivery from our Middelburg yard
- Direct drops to quarries, mines and approved receiving points
- Transport for single items, stacked pallets and mixed loads
- Careful handling for used spares, oversize parts and fragile machined faces
What Is Included In A Delivery Booking
Every delivery starts with a clear handover from our yard team. We confirm the item list, dimensions, estimated mass and whether the load needs palletising, wrapping or crating before it leaves the yard. If the spare is already stored with us, Johan Steenkamp and the yard team prepare it for loading. If it is collected from another quarry or mine, we arrange the collection point and receiving instructions first.
Our delivery booking can include loading supervision, packing advice, route coordination and proof of dispatch. For sensitive items, Sibusiso Ndlovu checks that the condition report matches the physical item before release. This helps avoid disputes where a part is received and the buyer expects a different finish, marking or wear level.
- Loading from yard, collection point or exchange site
- Palletising, wrapping and strap securement where needed
- Dispatch notes with part description and condition status
- Delivery coordination for normal and urgent movements
How We Move Spares From Quote To Drop-Off
The process is practical and keeps downtime down. Once the item is confirmed, we check the destination, access route and whether a forklift or offloading assistance will be needed. If the site has narrow access, low gantries, soft ground or a strict gate procedure, we plan around that before the truck leaves. Quarry sites in coastal humidity, and inland yards with dust or heat, often need better wrapping than expected, so we factor that in too.
Typical movement follows four steps: confirm the item, prepare the load, dispatch the vehicle and confirm delivery at the receiving point. Nokuthula Dlamini handles client updates, while Mpho Rakoma supervises movement schedules and delivery windows. For urgent spares searches linked to a shutdown, we try to align delivery with the maintenance crew's callout time so there is no waiting around on site.
- Step 1: Confirm part, route and receiving contact
- Step 2: Inspect, label and pack the load
- Step 3: Load and dispatch from Middelburg or another agreed point
- Step 4: Confirm delivery and release documents
How Delivery Pricing Is Worked Out
We price delivery according to distance, load size, weight, packing needs and the urgency of the move. A small pallet moving from Middelburg to Secunda will be priced differently from an oversize crusher component heading to Kathu. We do not treat every consignment the same because transport costs, loading labour and special handling can change the total quite a bit.
Where possible, we group compatible loads going to nearby industrial regions to reduce cost. That helps quarries and mines that are exchanging surplus spares instead of buying new stock. If a part is being moved as part of a consignment sale, the delivery cost can be folded into the overall deal, depending on the agreement. We always state the basis of the pricing first, so there are no surprises after loading.
- Distance-based delivery rates
- Weight and dimensional factors for heavy spares
- Packing, palletising and loading labour where required
- Urgent dispatch premiums for shutdown or breakdown movement
Packing Standards For Safe Transit
Crusher spares are not soft parcels. They can have sharp edges, machined faces, grease points and uneven load points, so the packing standard matters. Our yard uses pallets, timber blocking, stretch wrap, strapping and protective layering where needed. We also separate items that can rub together during transit, especially when a load contains mixed metal parts with different wear states.
For larger pieces, the load may be secured in a way that allows quick offloading on site without damage to the fixing points. Where dust, rain or coastal moisture is a concern, the item can be wrapped to reduce corrosion while it is in transit. The aim is simple: keep the spare identifiable, clean enough for inspection and physically intact when it arrives.
- Pallets sized to suit the item footprint
- Timber blocking for uneven or rolling parts
- Wrap and strap protection for exposed surfaces
- Marked loads for easier receiving and sorting
Maintenance Intervals And Rechecking On Arrival
Because we move surplus crusher spares, some items are sold ready for immediate use while others need a maintenance check before fitment. We recommend that buyers re-inspect key dimensions, wear surfaces and mounting points on arrival, especially after long-distance transport. That applies to shafts, bearings, housings and high-wear components that can be affected by storage time or previous service conditions.
As a rule, maintenance intervals depend on the part type and how long it has been out of service. A spare stored in the yard for a short period may only need a visual check and light cleaning. A part that has been in storage for months, or moved through multiple sites, may need a more detailed condition report before installation. If a client is planning a shutdown, we advise checking all fitment points at least a few days before the outage so there is time to sort any mismatch. It saves trouble and it keeps the crew from standing around waiting for a part that is nearly right, but not quite.
